Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical leader for the Global Payroll engineering team by shaping architecture, engineering standards, code reviews, and delivery approaches.
  • Translate complex business needs into technical solutions, delivery plans, and measurable engineering priorities with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Lead software development and integration activities involving ADP Global View, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP HCM, and end-to-end payroll integration setups.
  • Lead design discussions for applications, APIs, integrations, data flows, and distributed systems while balancing reliability, security, performance, cost, and maintainability.
  • Provide hands-on technical coaching, code reviews, pairing, testing strategy, reusable patterns, and modern software development practices.
  • Advance DevOps and platform engineering practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, observability, secure deployment, and reliable production operations.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and correct complex software defects and improve production reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Use AI-assisted development capabilities and modern engineering tools where appropriate to improve developer productivity and software quality.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical direction across teams, reduce technical debt, and make pragmatic tradeoffs across speed, quality, security, and sustainability.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting complex production applications.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern enterprise programming language, such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or a similar language.
  • Experience with software architecture and system design, including APIs, event-driven or integration patterns, distributed systems, data modeling, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Experience building and operating solutions using AWS services.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, infrastructure as code, and environment automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
  • Working knowledge of secure software development practices, identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, dependency management, and delivery-pipeline security controls.
  • Experience improving production reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to provide staff-level technical leadership through architecture influence, mentoring, technical-debt reduction, and cross-team decision-making.
  • Good understanding of HR/LR, time, and payroll processes, plus experience identifying reporting needs and setting up Databricks/EDL.
  • Very strong English interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with openness to working with global product teams.
  • Experience with solution implementations incorporating AI technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related career field.
  • Preferred qualifications include SAP SuccessFactors experience, reusable platform capability development, legacy modernization, cloud-native architecture, AI agents or A2A frameworks, AI-assisted engineering tools, system execution/quality monitoring tools, stakeholder collaboration, and Lean Service management principles.
