Responsibilities
- Design, train, evaluate, and fine-tune machine learning and neural network models for 3D character deformation and automated facial performance.
- Build models that predict blendshapes, generate mesh deformations, and automate landmark tracking while aligning results with artist intent.
- Write production-quality Python application code and integrate AI systems into character pipeline workflows using USD, Autodesk Maya, and Houdini.
- Package and deploy code and model environments with Docker across local workstations and cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
- Collaborate with software engineers, technical artists, and AI scientists on practical tools that automate complex character workflows.
- Use AI developer agents to support coding, testing, and pipeline automation tasks.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, or a related technical field.
- Have practical Python programming skills and a conceptual and applied foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and neural network architectures.
- Have experience training, evaluating, and fine-tuning models with PyTorch or TensorFlow and handling noisy and curated datasets.
- Understand 3D geometry, linear algebra, and coordinate transformations as applied to mesh topology and deformation.
- Have practical experience containerizing applications with Docker and collaborating through Git and modern version control platforms.
- Familiarity with USD, Maya or Houdini digital content creation APIs, model inference optimization, or AI coding agents is helpful.
- Be enrolled in an accredited degree program through summer 2027 and graduate no earlier than December 2027.
- Be legally authorized to work full-time in Canada during the internship.
