Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain features across Firstbase’s product catalog, orders, fulfillment, and customer-facing applications.
- Build and extend REST and GraphQL APIs using Java and Spring with guidance from senior engineers.
- Work with PostgreSQL and messaging systems including Kafka and SQS/SNS.
- Contribute technical designs, explain trade-offs, and collaborate with teammates on assigned features.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; participate in code review and own delivery and post-release issue follow-up.
- Partner with warehouse, procurement, fulfillment, and customer operations teams to translate workflows and constraints into production software.
- Participate in team delivery practices and actively give and receive feedback.
- Use coding agents for bounded development tasks while remaining responsible for understanding changes, test coverage, and merge quality.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience or ability to develop software using Java and Spring.
- Ability to work with REST and GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL, and messaging systems.
- Ability to contribute technical designs, communicate trade-offs, write appropriate tests, and participate in code review and delivery.
- Ability to collaborate with operational stakeholders and learn new technologies.
