Base Salary
$150k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services, data models, and business logic powering AI agents and healthcare workflows.
- Build infrastructure for multi-step asynchronous workflows with conditional logic, retries, and graceful failure handling.
- Own integrations with EHRs and legacy healthcare platforms through APIs and RPA.
- Create internal abstractions and tooling for quickly and reliably deploying and customizing AI assistants for new customers.
- Implement and maintain backend authentication, authorization, security, and HIPAA-compliant architecture.
- Design and operate production LLM systems with monitoring, safety controls, reliability, and support for thousands of concurrent patient interactions.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience designing, building, and scaling backend systems in high-reliability production environments.
- Strong backend expertise across APIs, relational databases, asynchronous workflows, and distributed systems.
- Ability to take ownership of system outcomes and work effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to surface risks early.
- Experience with security, authentication, authorization, regulated environments, or HIPAA is a bonus.
