Responsibilities
- Define the test strategy, quality metrics, and test approach during the discovery phase.
- Derive test cases from acceptance criteria with the Business Analyst.
- Test REST APIs through functional, contract, negative, boundary, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Validate business rules, including date/time behavior and edge cases.
- Run integration tests against third-party APIs and sandboxes, including error and timeout handling.
- Test asynchronous, event-driven flows involving queues, retries, and error handling.
- Execute end-to-end e-commerce scenarios across storefronts, backend services, and downstream systems.
- Build and maintain automated API and regression suites in CI/CD pipelines.
- Test web administration interfaces.
- Coordinate with client and partner QA teams, lead defect triage, support UAT, and drive release-readiness sign-off.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software QA experience, including at least 3 years of API and integration test automation.
- Strong REST API testing skills with JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman, or code-based frameworks.
- Experience with test automation in C#/.NET using xUnit, NUnit, Reqnroll, or SpecFlow, or in TypeScript using Playwright.
- Experience testing asynchronous, event-driven systems such as AWS SQS/SNS or equivalent technologies.
- Knowledge of rigorous test design techniques including decision tables, boundary values, and equivalence partitioning.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with defect and test management in Jira, Xray, Zephyr, or similar tools.
- Experience coordinating with client-side QA teams and supporting UAT in multi-vendor projects.
- Excellent written and spoken English for daily client interaction.
- E-commerce checkout testing, ideally with Shopify, is preferred.
- Experience with shipping or carrier APIs is preferred.
- Performance and load testing experience with k6 or JMeter is preferred.
- Contract testing experience, such as Pact, is preferred.
- Experience with AI-assisted test design and test-case generation is preferred.
