Principal Software Engineer
Cognite - AI for IndustryResponsibilities
- Drive architectural decisions and lead implementation of scalable full stack solutions from concept through deployment.
- Design and implement APIs, intuitive user experiences, large-scale infrastructure, and web services.
- Maintain systems for optimal performance, reliability, and minimal downtime.
- Influence the strategic product roadmap and technical direction for key platform areas.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers, ML engineers, 3D developers, business leaders, users, and subject-matter experts.
- Champion maintainable code quality and build products that meet user needs.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Relevant hands-on software development experience in one or more languages such as Kotlin, Java, Python, or Rust.
- Deep expertise in modern JavaScript and TypeScript and extensive experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar component-based architectures.
- Experience with state management patterns, build tooling such as Webpack or Vite, and testing frameworks is highly valued.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale cloud deployments using AWS, GCP, or Azure and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving, technical troubleshooting, and complex system diagnosis skills.
- Ability to prioritize work for maximum impact, learn new languages, and select appropriate tools.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers, leading significant projects, or designing and scaling complex full stack architectures is advantageous.
- Experience in industrial software, IoT, large-scale data visualization, SaaS products, or mobile application development is a plus.
- Ability to work in an English-speaking environment.
