Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed NoSQL databases, including caches, key-value stores, document databases, graph databases, wide-column stores, search engines, and multi-model databases.
- Build high-performance, low-latency, highly available distributed systems for large-scale business operations.
- Optimize compute and storage engines for cloud-native global deployments to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Provide technical guidance to internal business teams and identify system optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust database products and solutions.
- Address scalability and architectural challenges in large-scale, high-traffic cloud service environments.
Requirements
- Be completing or have recently completed a PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline, with strong database systems or AI research experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Java, Go, Python, or Rust, with strong coding skills in a Linux environment.
- Have deep knowledge of database principles, distributed system design, and multithreaded programming.
- Have hands-on experience with distributed storage and computing technologies.
- Understand distributed consensus algorithms and have experience with database kernel development.
- Have practical experience with large-scale cloud-native architectures and distributed system control platforms.
- Publications at conferences such as SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, MLSys, or ICDE are preferred.
- Familiarity with RocksDB, Redis, MongoDB, HBase, TiDB, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, JanusGraph, YugabyteDB, or CockroachDB is preferred.
