Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end UI automation using Playwright with Java.
- Extend Java automation frameworks with page objects, reusable fixtures, test data management, and multi-environment configuration.
- Automate service-layer and API tests using REST Assured or Playwright APIRequestContext.
- Integrate automated suites into Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions with parallel and cross-browser execution and Allure or Extent reporting.
- Triage Playwright traces, logs, flaky tests, and CI-only failures, and distinguish defects from test instability.
- Convert manual Group Retirement Services regression packs into automated coverage and report application-level coverage.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and business subject-matter experts in Agile ceremonies and contribute to test strategy, estimates, and definition of done.
- Support accessibility checks, basic performance smoke testing, and data privacy handling for member records.
Requirements
- 8+ years of overall QA testing experience and 4+ years of test automation experience.
- Hands-on Playwright with Java, or strong Selenium with Java plus demonstrated Playwright migration experience.
- Strong Java skills including collections, object-oriented design, streams, exception handling, and framework development.
- Experience with Group Retirement, Pension, or Wealth domains, including plans, contributions, remittances, transfers, statements, or CRA contribution limits.
- Experience testing Salesforce, mainframe, or record-keeping platforms.
- Experience with Maven, Git branching workflows, code reviews, API testing, JSON/XML validation, and SQL.
- Comfort with CI pipelines, Git-based source-control workflows, and debugging failures that occur only in CI.
- Ability to independently lead testing efforts and deliver enterprise-scale testing or digital transformation initiatives is preferred.
