Base Salary

$170k - $240k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and expand Skydio Cloud’s core data model and API for drones, docking stations, and generated data.
  • Build customer-facing web application features including over-the-air updates, fleet health, asset management, security and permissions, user and device management, and 3D reconstruction.
  • Design secure, efficient, observable, scalable, and robust software for petabytes of real-time drone data and video.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, support, Autonomy, Backend Infrastructure, and Field teams to deliver Skydio Cloud features.
  • Own technical direction and features end to end while contributing to long-term platform architecture.
  • Improve engineering standards through activities such as code review and post-mortems.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to help maintain 24/7 platform availability.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of software engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experience building product features across the backend and frontend from concept through customer value.
  • Ability to drive software through architecture, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • High proficiency with modern cloud technologies and experience delivering scalable, secure cloud-based applications.
  • Experience with or willingness to work across backend, frontend, APIs, geospatial data, and real-time systems.
  • Experience with Skydio’s listed technology stack or similar technologies is a bonus.
  • Experience with geospatial data, mapping, visualization, photogrammetry, scanning, mapping, or 3D reconstruction is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with autonomy, robotics, or mission-planning architectures such as state machines and behavior trees is a bonus.
