Base Salary
$243k - $307k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the data model strategy and long-term architecture for the Person API, Trust Service, and Inspection Catalog.
- Design and govern API contracts, including versioning, compatibility, and standards for internal and external consumers.
- Set technical direction and design standards for identity, evidence, and trust systems.
- Lead modernization and consolidation of legacy identity data into scalable, modular services and contracts.
- Model Person-to-SSN, Person-to-Face, and Person-to-Legal relationships and connect inspection evidence to trust decisions.
- Ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of platform data.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers and provide lasting technical leadership across the domain.
- Influence alignment across engineering, Product, Architecture, Identity, Security, and Compliance teams without direct authority.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience as a recognized technical authority for a complex multi-system domain.
- Deep expertise in data modeling and graph data structures, including scalable, performant, and auditable schemas and relationships.
- Proven experience designing and owning APIs and data contracts for source-of-truth systems.
- Demonstrated ability to set technical strategy and drive alignment across engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with graph databases and graph-versus-relational modeling tradeoffs is especially important.
- Experience modeling evidence and confidence scoring into queryable records is especially important.
- Experience building or owning systems that manage person or entity attributes and relationships at scale.
- Expertise with NIST 800-63 IAL2/AAL2 standards, evidence requirements, verification methods, and identity lifecycle management is valuable.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure is valuable.
- Experience in regulated environments and familiarity with Verifiable Credentials, Decentralized Identifiers, or OIDC extensions are valuable.
- Excellent communication skills and a record of influencing technical direction across an organization.
