Base Salary
$150k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Improve infrastructure supporting trading, account management, transaction processing, and portfolio automation.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across backend systems.
- Build and enhance internal tools, data pipelines, and system integrations.
- Develop infrastructure capabilities for CI/CD, deployment automation, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Promote code quality, system design, testing, and documentation best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead architectural initiatives across the backend domain.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional experience building backend systems in TypeScript or comparable languages, with Node.js preferred.
- Strong backend fundamentals involving APIs, microservices, distributed systems, data stores, caching, and messaging systems.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database design, scaling patterns, performance optimization, and observability.
- Deep experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of backend security practices including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with financial or real-time services, automated portfolio or trading systems, or financial data systems is preferred.
- Previous ownership of backend infrastructure or mission-critical systems and experience scaling high-throughput applications are preferred.
