Base Salary
$142k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, high-performance applications for international and domestic settlements.
- Drive engineering and technology transformation across the settlements stack.
- Perform hands-on coding, code reviews, refactoring, and system design for distributed and high-throughput systems.
- Implement trunk-based development, automated testing, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and progressive delivery practices.
- Apply TDD, BDD, unit testing, secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and software design best practices.
- Partner with architects, product owners, DevOps teams, and cross-functional stakeholders on deployments, observability, and production resilience.
- Lead technical discussions, contribute to architecture and design documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of total experience in financial-services software development.
- Hands-on programming experience with Kotlin, Python, and Java or another modern programming language.
- Deep expertise in system design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and real-time high-throughput performance optimization.
- Experience with event-driven and messaging systems such as Kafka or Solace.
- Experience with low-latency and high-performance computing, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with SQL databases including Oracle and NoSQL databases including MongoDB.
- Proficiency in trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, TDD, BDD, automation, and high test coverage.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, cloud-native technologies, AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with code reviews, vulnerability assessments, secure coding, performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring.
- Preferred experience includes advanced data and AI/ML integration, Citi Engineering Excellence Standards, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and Agile product-development practices.
