Base Salary
$196k - $294k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver business-critical instrument control software spanning multiple subsystems.
- Drive technical design and implementation for complex, high-risk areas while independently defining approaches and managing technical risk.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems engineering teams on hardware-software integration and requirements.
- Identify and resolve systemic issues involving performance, reliability, scalability, and technical debt.
- Lead design and code reviews and contribute hands-on development in C#/.NET.
- Influence system architecture and technical direction and mentor engineers.
- Drive complex technical projects independently from concept through production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in C#/.NET and proficiency in Python.
- Strong experience with real-time or embedded systems and hardware-software integration.
- Experience with hardware systems such as robotics, optical systems, environmental sensors, or motion control.
- Strong proficiency with Linux environments and solid understanding of software architecture, design principles, and best practices.
- Experience developing instrument control software, user interfaces, and system-level integrations.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, such as RESTful services.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include scientific instrumentation experience, a Master’s degree or higher, firmware and low-level system interaction experience such as FPGA interfaces, life sciences or regulated-environment experience, and familiarity with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
