Base Salary
$131k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable production APIs used across CoverMyMeds.
- Develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Build and support Kafka-based event-driven integrations and services.
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL relational database schemas.
- Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Build migration tools, support adoption of platform capabilities, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for team-owned services.
- Review technical designs, establish API and event standards, mentor engineers, and provide architectural guidance.
- Improve engineering quality, maintainability, reliability, scalability, development tooling, and workflows.
- Use and validate AI-assisted development tools and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience; the role typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience designing, building, and operating production APIs.
- Experience with TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms, PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling, and modern CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience supporting production systems, resolving operational issues, participating in technical design discussions, and conducting code reviews.
- Strong understanding of API design principles, including versioning and backward compatibility.
- Ability to evaluate technical approaches, communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs, learn new technologies, and provide constructive engineering feedback.
- Preferred experience with Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Helm, Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, Elixir, SOX or ITGC environments, platform services, internal developer platforms, mentoring, and AI-assisted tools such as Claude.

- Competitive base pay range of $131,000-$218,300, with potential annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities.
