Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions in line with project requirements.
  • Produce clear, well-structured, and maintainable software designs.
  • Deliver robust and reliable software suitable for operational use.
  • Perform testing to ensure software quality, performance, and compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software by resolving defects and implementing new features.
  • Model maritime battlespace environments and defence systems for naval training, system validation, and capability development.

Requirements

  • Degree such as a BEng or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related numerate discipline.
  • Proven experience with at least one high-level programming language; C++, C#, Java, or Ada are highly desirable.
  • Adequate experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Understanding of configuration management principles and experience using configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, including switches and routers.
  • Ability to meet applicable security and export-control requirements, including Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance; some roles may require higher national security vetting.
