Responsibilities
- Deploy, automate, and operate large-scale software-defined storage architectures across private and public cloud regions.
- Deploy and support Pure Storage, HPE, NetApp, Ceph, and Longhorn storage platforms.
- Integrate self-service storage workflows for Kubernetes CSI and OpenStack consumers, including virtual machine and bare-metal environments.
- Implement and manage backup solutions, preferably Rubrik.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for storage platforms using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Git, Python, and Bash.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure updates, patching, upgrades, testing, and rollback.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability for storage capacity, latency, IOPS, and recovery health using GitOps, Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana.
- Troubleshoot storage, Kubernetes, hypervisors, networking, and Linux systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate globally on change management, documentation, operational best practices, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience managing enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux.
- Hands-on experience with software-defined storage solutions such as Ceph and Longhorn, including legacy storage migrations.
- Expertise in block, file, and object storage, Fibre Channel, NVMe-oF, and iSCSI fabrics.
- Expert knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux systems, including Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS.
- Proficiency with Ansible and Terraform for storage provisioning and backup schedules.
- Expertise with backup technologies, preferably Rubrik.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash; Golang is a plus.
- Experience operating 24x7 mission-critical production environments.
- Hands-on experience with KVM hypervisors, SUSE Harvester, and OpenStack.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred qualifications include OpenStack Cinder multi-backend administration, CIS/NIST security knowledge, ITIL certifications, relevant Kubernetes or Ceph certifications, and experience in telco, edge cloud, or large enterprise environments.
- A master’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications are also considered.
