Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting Binance Pay and Card products.
- Build scalable APIs and microservices for payment processing, transaction management, merchant services, and financial workflows.
- Develop distributed systems for high-volume, latency-sensitive transactions and implement retry, idempotency, concurrency, and failure handling.
- Work with databases, caching systems, message queues, logs, metrics, and tracing to improve performance, reliability, and observability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, write maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with product and engineering teams.
- Contribute to improvements in system reliability, security, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and computer science fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, Go, C++, Python, or a similar language.
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL, including indexes, transactions, and database design fundamentals.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP, networking, client-server architecture, operating systems, concurrency, and backend engineering concepts.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable code and reason systematically about technical problems.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-moving engineering environment.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, message queues, distributed systems, and payment concepts such as authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and chargebacks.
- Previous backend engineering internship, personal project, hackathon, or open-source experience and interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, or payment infrastructure are preferred.
