Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performance full-stack software solutions.
- Build backend services with Java and Spring technologies and frontend applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ReactJS.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, database schemas, data models, system architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Develop comprehensive frontend and backend test suites and implement effective unit-testing and peer-review practices.
- Deploy and support applications using Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, version control, and CI/CD tools.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot and debug issues across the full technology stack.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, business partners, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead technical initiatives, enforce technology standards, and improve engineering processes, tools, methodologies, and team productivity.
- Mentor junior team members, conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.
- Manage technology risks and strengthen controls related to the team’s work.
Requirements
- Experience working within investment banking or capital markets.
- Strong Java programming skills, including JDK 21+, object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, and the Stream API.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of core HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technologies and experience with ReactJS.
- Experience with relational databases such as MSSQL or Oracle and SQL.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle build tools.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes or OpenShift knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder-collaboration skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
- Valued experience with FX Cash, OTC Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, MQ, Kafka, Solace, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization frameworks, and enterprise security protocols.
- Ability to work with project management discipline, risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, and strategic thinking.
