Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation scripts, software workflows, and CI/CD pipelines for Flight Dynamics System operations.
- Manage version control, configuration management, software deployments, system documentation, and operational toolchains.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and monitor Flight Dynamics System performance, stability, orbit determination, and maneuver reconstruction.
- Lead Flight Dynamics System development and tailor processes for the Telesat Lightspeed constellation.
- Guide development of a Space Situational Awareness System and its integration with an external SSA service.
- Lead orbit management, station-keeping, maneuver planning, tracking strategies, propellant analysis, and deorbit planning across all mission phases.
- Support LEOP, IOT, and EOR campaigns through orbit determination, EOR strategy planning, and generation of tracking predictions.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to FD team members, analysts, satellite engineers, and related development teams.
- Manage development projects and collaborate with SOC Systems, Satellite Engineering, Space Segment, and external vendors.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to Telesat Lightspeed management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 9–14 years of relevant experience directly related or commensurate to space orbital dynamics.
- Required background in statistics, calculus, classical mechanics, celestial mechanics, and computer programming.
- Experience with satellite station-keeping planning and software development using modern scripting languages and operational procedure scripting languages.
- Linux systems administration, Python programming, and configuration management experience are assets.
- Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and containerized software platform experience are valued assets.
- Strong technical, presentation, interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and maintain close attention to detail.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain CGP security clearance.
