Base Salary
$388k - $619k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate robust, scalable, highly available distributed systems and infrastructure.
- Set technical direction, make architectural decisions, and develop long-term technical strategies.
- Improve developer experience, observability, operational excellence, and engineering best practices.
- Solve ambiguous technical and customer problems across engineering, product, and business organizations.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident reviews.
- Mentor engineers and help develop technical communities across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience crafting complex distributed systems.
- Recent proficiency with Java, C#, or another object-oriented programming language, including object-oriented design, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and observability.
- Proven experience architecting, building, and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and high-performance distributed systems.
- Experience setting technical direction, making architectural decisions, and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders and drive decisions through written and verbal communication.
- Preferred experience with gRPC or GraphQL API design and implementation.
- Preferred working experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and AWS.
- Preferred familiarity with library development and dependency-injection frameworks, especially Spring Boot.
- Experience with infrastructure and platform product thinking, business-aligned technology investments, and AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
