Base Salary
$388k - $619k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate robust, scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Build infrastructure and platforms that improve developer experience, observability, and operational excellence.
- Set technical direction, make architectural decisions, and influence cross-functional engineering partners.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident reviews.
- Mentor engineers, support career development, and build technical communities.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and drive technical conversations and decisions.
- Develop long-term technical strategies aligned with business goals and technology investments.
- Evaluate AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience crafting complex distributed systems.
- Recent proficient experience with Java, C#, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and observability.
- Proven experience architecting, building, and operating distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and strong performance.
- Experience setting technical direction, making architectural decisions, and influencing partner and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders through written and verbal communication.
- Preferred experience with gRPC and/or GraphQL API design and implementation.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and/or AWS.
- Familiarity with library development and dependency-injection frameworks, preferably Spring Boot.
- Experience developing long-term technical strategies aligned with business goals is preferred.
- Experience using and evaluating AI-driven development tools is preferred.
