Responsibilities
- Implement eBay’s experimentation and feature-flag platform across the user interface and backend.
- Contribute to architecture and design reviews with a focus on scalability and resilience.
- Enhance and support low-latency, high-throughput services.
- Own operational excellence, including observability and incident response.
- Collaborate with data scientists, business customers, and engineering teams on product requirements and technical solutions.
- Independently deliver complex projects from requirements through production.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, schema evolution, and reliability issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software design and implementation, including at least 2 years of distributed-systems or data-platform experience.
- Full-stack development skills, including data manipulation and frontend development with React and HTML/CSS.
- Backend development experience with Java and TypeScript.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems and software applications using object-oriented design and JVM languages such as Java or Scala.
- Experience with React, Spring Boot, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in Java, SQL, Python, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Knowledge of A/B testing or feature flags.
- Ability to design and deliver critical systems with meaningful impact.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-team technical outcomes.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
