Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the core tax remittance product with reliability and correctness as first principles.
- Develop and optimize high-throughput distributed systems for global, multi-currency tax remittances.
- Build functionality for agency cutoffs, retries, reconciliation, and failure recovery.
- Set standards for reliability, observability, security, and regulatory and audit readiness.
- Partner with internal teams, payment partners, and tax agencies to define roadmaps, de-risk launches, and expand into new geographies and products.
- Participate in planning, perform code reviews, and contribute to team growth.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and help remove blockers to their autonomy.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of programming experience.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in performing the duties.
- Solid experience architecting backend applications with complex business logic.
- Experience building scalable distributed systems.
- Preferred experience with Python, Django, React, MongoDB, and AWS.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and independently pursue high-impact areas.
- Passion for solving customer pain points.
