Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and provide operational support for flight software.
- Integrate flight software with hardware and subsystem teams, including design trades and integrated testing.
- Debug embedded systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal measurement tools, and other laboratory equipment.
- Conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing and verify software performance for integrated hardware/software systems.
- Support risk identification, fault analysis, mitigation, system integration, troubleshooting, and program reviews.
- Participate in Agile development planning, integration, and verification activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics plus two years of related software development experience; a master’s degree in a STEM field may substitute for direct experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming such as C or C++.
- Experience with firmware, embedded software, hardware/software integration, and embedded-system debugging.
- Familiarity with RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and Git-based platforms such as GitLab or GitHub.
- Experience working on cross-disciplinary engineering teams with strong communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
- Preferred qualifications include human spaceflight or exploration experience, embedded software frameworks, device-driver development, SpaceWire, logging and diagnostics frameworks, xUnit, Windows, POSIX-based operating systems, Docker, Agile/Scrum, CMMI, and a master’s degree in a STEM field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation, with eligibility for access to classified information.
