Base Salary

$76k - $156k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded flight software for CO2, H2O, and gas analyzer sensor controllers.
  • Create and execute structural and functional C unit tests using UT-Assert and Gcov, including path coverage, loop-boundary, and MC/DC evaluation.
  • Troubleshoot failed tests, perform C code reviews, and collaborate with software engineers to resolve defects.
  • Support software requirements, interface definitions, design, performance analysis, integration, verification, and certification.
  • Integrate and test software and hardware in avionics test beds and flight-certification environments.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts; execute manual, automated, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Document and track software defects and collaborate with developers on reproduction and resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors across NASA programs while following JSC software-process practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, software, computer, systems, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of embedded software development experience.
  • Strong C programming skills and experience developing software in a Linux environment.
  • Experience developing C/C++ unit tests using frameworks such as Google Test, UT-Assert, or CppUnit.
  • Experience developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers and across the full software life cycle.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, aerospace or other safety-critical industry experience, GitLab and Git experience, Python skills, communications-protocol experience, NASA Core Flight Software experience, software and systems integration experience, automated and verification testing experience, Jira experience, Agile/Scrum experience, human-rated space vehicle software experience, and familiarity with CMMI Level 3 or above.
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision are required.
