Responsibilities
- Own the SAP SD Shipping and Distribution module design, configuration approach, estimates, sequencing, and deliverable approvals.
- Configure delivery document types, item categories, delivery creation, delivery due lists, delivery splits, shipping-point and loading-point determination, route determination, and delivery and transportation scheduling.
- Configure picking, packing, handling units, goods issue, delivery outputs, shipment documents, and transportation handover.
- Support incoterms, export documentation, country-specific shipping requirements, and integration with EWM, Transportation Management, Inventory Management, and Billing.
- Lead workstream delivery against milestones, including quality gates, specifications, test evidence, defect containment, integration testing, and cutover.
- Diagnose outbound delivery and goods-issue failures across configuration, data, and integration layers and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Create AI prompts, accelerators, validation standards, and SAP Joule agent specifications for exception triage, scheduling analysis, and scenario test generation.
- Lead and mentor a small delivery team, allocate work, review deliverables, and develop team capability.
- Lead requirements and design workshops, manage business process-owner relationships, present options and risks, and defend scope against schedule impacts.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in SAP Sales and Distribution, including delivery and shipping configuration in S/4HANA or ECC.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Deep expertise in shipping-point, loading-point, and route determination; delivery and transportation scheduling; picking, packing, handling units; goods issue; and shipping-document output.
- Current, continuous hands-on configuration experience with no sustained break from build activity in the last 18 months.
- End-to-end ownership of an SAP module workstream, including estimation, milestone commitments, defect management, integration testing, and cutover.
- Experience leading a small delivery team and owning business stakeholder relationships, including contested scope discussions.
- Workstream ownership across at least two full-lifecycle SAP implementations or large rollouts.
- Demonstrated AI-assisted delivery adoption, reusable accelerators or playbooks, defined validation practices, and the ability to verify generated output before use.
- Working knowledge of SAP Joule for Consultants, either at appointment or achievable within 90 days of joining.
- Preferred experience with EWM delivery distribution, embedded Transportation Management handover, SAP Global Trade Services, and Fiori outbound delivery applications.
