Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, pilot, and operationalize solutions that align customer requirements with business and technology strategies.
  • Deliver workshops, tailored demo applications, user workflows, and solution prototypes.
  • Support pre-sales, customer expansions, technical proposals, and solution ideation using remote-sensing, geospatial, AI, machine-learning, image-processing, and geo-programming expertise.
  • Act as technical lead for solution-development teams and collaborate with product, project-management, engineering, sales, legal, proposals, and business-development stakeholders.
  • Own customer-success activities from discovery and scoping through delivery, training, value realization, and expansion.
  • Champion Planet’s products through training, conferences, technical tutorials, articles, and videos.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in a technical geospatial or remote-sensing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography, or a related field.
  • Background in remote sensing, geoscience, or geoinformatics.
  • Extensive Python programming ability for geospatial applications, imagery processing, vector-data manipulation, and data pipelines.
  • Experience with solution design, requirements gathering, user-story ideation, design documentation, architecture, and prototyping.
  • Proficiency with QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, ENVI, or comparable geospatial software.
  • Industry knowledge in areas such as forestry, natural disasters, sustainability, or agriculture.
  • Familiarity with GCP, AWS, and Azure cloud-computing environments.
  • Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams and with metrics-based planning and delivery.
  • Experience using AI for productivity, coding, and demo-app creation, including Streamlit.
  • Ability to run user workshops and training sessions and provide end-user troubleshooting.
  • Preferred: advanced machine learning applied to geospatial data; experience with Claude, Google Functions, CI/CD integrations, Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock, JavaScript mapping libraries, and React.
