Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance business applications and application systems in coordination with the Technology team.
- Analyze issues, recommend solutions, implement system improvements, and evaluate options for complex or nonstandard situations.
- Write, test, debug, and maintain code and scripts according to design specifications.
- Apply data engineering skills, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, Java, SQL, Oracle, and performance tuning.
- Assess risk, follow applicable laws and policies, and escalate and report control issues transparently.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of relevant experience, including hands-on experience in data engineering.
- Experience with programming and debugging business applications and working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Knowledge of Java, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, performance tuning, SQL, and Oracle.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a relevant business area for application development and working knowledge of programming languages.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Java or big-data certification is preferred.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
