Base Salary
$124k - $329k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build customer-facing experiences for GitHub Issues and Projects that improve productivity and collaboration.
- Design, prototype, implement, ship, and support highly performant user experiences at scale.
- Write, review, and maintain code primarily in JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Ruby, and Rails.
- Research approaches, write architecture briefs and proposals, run code experiments, and build prototypes for scalable systems.
- Work with engineering leadership to guide technical investments, roadmaps, and priorities.
- Coordinate with engineering and product leads to define, prioritize, and task projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to support team growth.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of relevant software engineering, computer science, or related technical experience, or a qualifying associate, bachelor's, master's, doctorate, or equivalent-experience pathway.
- At least 5 years of senior-level React experience.
- Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software using one or more listed programming languages, including JavaScript, Ruby, Go, Python, Java, C, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Preferred: at least 1 year working remotely as part of a distributed software engineering team.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of hands-on experience with modern web stacks such as Rails, Go, React, MySQL, and GraphQL.
- Strong customer focus, data-driven thinking, analytical ability, communication skills, passion, self-motivation, and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
