Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Layla’s cross-platform mobile application in Flutter and Dart for iOS and Android.
- Own end-to-end delivery of mobile features, including low-level design, API integration, data modeling, release, and support.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineering to develop intuitive, accessible, performant conversational trip-planning and booking flows.
- Drive mobile quality and reliability through automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, performance monitoring, and observability.
- Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled planning, personalization, recommendation, and assistant capabilities into mobile features.
- Contribute to native platform interoperability and establish reusable Flutter engineering patterns and best practices.
- Lead technical design for complex mobile initiatives and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional experience building and shipping production mobile applications with Flutter and Dart.
- Experience delivering applications to both iOS and Android from a shared codebase, including API integration, data modeling, and network/offline data handling.
- Ability to design and maintain testable, maintainable, and performant mobile codebases using modern frameworks, tooling, and libraries.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts safely to real-world products.
- Advanced Flutter/Dart proficiency and experience with mobile UI/UX, state management, and performance optimization preferred.
- Experience with native iOS Swift/SwiftUI and/or Android Kotlin/Jetpack interoperability preferred.
- Experience with architecture decisions, API contracts, data models, accessibility, AI/ML-enabled mobile capabilities, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude preferred.
- Experience driving architectural improvements and mentoring engineers preferred.
