Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and operate accessible search experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern web technologies.
- Deliver features end to end from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Contribute to backend services and integrate APIs connecting customer experiences with search, AI, and data platforms.
- Partner with product, design, data science, and machine learning teams to translate customer problems into technical solutions.
- Improve the performance, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability of search experiences.
- Use customer feedback, product data, and experimentation to improve search discoverability, usability, and engagement.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, incident response, and operational support.
- Improve team productivity through tooling, documentation, reusable components, and engineering practices.
- Share knowledge and constructive feedback with teammates.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant software engineering experience building and delivering production software.
- Experience developing modern web applications with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS or comparable technologies.
- Experience designing reusable components and building responsive, accessible user interfaces.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with GraphQL APIs.
- Understanding of software design, data structures, testing practices, and debugging.
- Experience owning features through design, implementation, release, and production operation.
- Ability to write readable, tested, maintainable, and performant code.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with engineering, product, and design partners.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, make technical decisions within scope, and communicate risks or blockers proactively.
- Preferred experience contributing to backend services with Node.js, Java, or Kotlin.
- Preferred experience with large-scale SaaS products and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Familiarity with search, information retrieval, AI-powered products, data-rich user experiences, experimentation, product analytics, observability, frontend performance optimization, shared component libraries, or design systems.
