Base Salary

$139k - $204k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, administer, and maintain cloud and vector database architectures, including provisioning, upgrades, operations, backups, security, and performance.
  • Build and operate scalable, resilient, high-performing hybrid-cloud database services.
  • Support uptime through on-call operations, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, SLAs, incident management, root-cause analysis, remediation, and postmortems.
  • Design and test high-availability and disaster-recovery measures across regions and customers.
  • Automate repetitive database and operational tasks and build tools for early issue detection.
  • Forecast resource capacity and create reports on infrastructure utilization.
  • Define reliability and security requirements and collaborate with developers, operations, and security teams.
  • Guide and support less experienced colleagues and work with cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of technical expertise with cloud databases and vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Milvus, and/or at least two of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with AI frameworks such as OpenAI API and LangChain.
  • Experience designing, administering, and maintaining vector database or cloud database architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Git, GitHub, and Jenkins.
  • Experience automating database tasks with Python and managing Database Lifecycle Management.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Preferred: backend experience with Python or other programming languages.
  • Preferred: experience building scalable databases on hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
