Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end software architecture and design for scalable, reliable, maintainable settlement-platform systems.
- Lead hands-on backend, platform, and full-stack software development across distributed enterprise systems.
- Build and enhance internal developer platforms using plugin-based architectures.
- Define testing strategies covering unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing and integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead benchmarking, load testing, capacity planning, bottleneck analysis, and system optimization to meet performance SLAs.
- Enforce secure coding, regulatory, compliance, and application security requirements.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for production incidents, root-cause analysis, resolution, and postmortems.
- Lead code reviews, mentor engineers, and provide technical guidance on complex engineering problems.
- Partner with product, platform, business, and security stakeholders on roadmaps, trade-offs, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Contribute reusable frameworks, patterns, and innovations to the Software Engineering Guild.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in software development, system design, data structures, algorithms, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Advanced hands-on experience building Java microservices with Spring Boot and developing full-stack enterprise solutions.
- Experience with unit, integration, functional testing, performance engineering, system optimization, secure coding, code review, and operability engineering.
- Experience with chaos engineering, failure testing, observability, monitoring, reliability, and troubleshooting complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, CloudFormation, and observability platforms such as Splunk.
- Experience with Oracle or SQL databases and working knowledge of application security principles including encryption, PKI, hashing, JWT, OAuth, OIDC, and zero trust.
- Experience leading technical design activities aligned with non-functional requirements, solution architecture, and system functional design specifications.
- Ability to coach teams, communicate architecture decisions, lead trade-off discussions, mentor engineers, and manage complex initiatives under pressure.
- Experience with Agile and modern SDLC practices, including Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, DevOps, and Quality Engineering.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in the security/access domain is preferred.
