Base Salary
$167k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable distributed control-plane microservices in Go for compute workloads across hypervisor nodes.
- Design gRPC interfaces and service contracts for high-throughput, fault-tolerant platform communication.
- Translate complex customer and system requirements into decoupled technical architectures.
- Optimize Linux kernel interactions and virtualization subsystems including KVM, Firecracker, and cgroups.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, architectural reviews, and code quality standards.
- Establish observability, failover strategies, and automated recovery frameworks.
- Participate in on-call support and continuous improvement activities for global data-center availability.
Requirements
- Experience with Go, high-throughput microservices architecture, gRPC, distributed control planes, or low-latency infrastructure APIs.
- Experience with low-level systems engineering, Linux kernel concepts, containerization, or hypervisor-level virtualization, including technologies such as KVM, Firecracker, eBPF, and cgroups.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency patterns, failure modes, and Linux performance optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex cross-team technical projects and mentor engineers.
- Strong communication, collaboration, learning, and system-maintainability orientation.
