Responsibilities
- Research emerging energy-domain technologies, including transmission developments and market rules, and formulate performant specifications for new features.
- Design, develop, review, refactor, test, document, and maintain optimization engines and ancillary calculations.
- Develop proof-of-concept builds and produce concise, high-quality code with attention to performance, memory management, system architecture, and parallel processing.
- Provide technical support by reproducing and correcting software defects, answering customer questions, and advising clients on solutions.
- Participate in requirements specification, technical documentation, stakeholder meetings, global projects, and collaboration with worldwide development teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with .NET, including VB.NET and C#, plus other development languages such as C++, Python, or similar.
- Strong mathematical skills and a theoretical background in numerical analysis, optimization techniques, and operations research.
- Experience with linear and mixed integer programming tools and familiarity with analytical methods such as Unit Commitment, Economic Dispatch, Load Flow, and Contingency Analysis.
- Strong experience with complex models and energy system modeling, simulation, analysis, operation, optimization, and numerical analysis methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; a relevant postgraduate degree in computer science or mathematics is also listed.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, interact effectively with team members and clients, and present technical information clearly.
