Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate safety-critical airframe software for Garmin aviation products.
- Write and maintain software using C, Python, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages.
- Configure flight decks and integrate software for delivery to aircraft OEM customers.
- Create and execute software designs, participate in code reviews, and perform technical root cause analysis.
- Serve as a technical leader, mentor less experienced software engineers, and contribute to technical research and process improvements.
- Manage OEM relationships, advocate for customer requirements, coordinate feedback, and align deliverables with engineering, flight-test, and production schedules.
- Collaborate with program coordination, systems, system tests, human factors, and flight operations teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience developing moderately complex software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages.
- Proficiency with software engineering tools including configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers.
- Excellent academic performance, generally with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Outstanding academics with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 are desired.
- Previous work or internship experience in design, particularly for consumer products, is desired.
