Base Salary

$100k - $167k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain authentication and authorization solutions using OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
  • Integrate applications and APIs with Okta, Auth0, Ping, or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Implement SSO, MFA, federated authentication, session management, secure token handling, and access policy enforcement.
  • Contribute to login gateways, authorization middleware, claims transformation, and other identity services.
  • Support SMART on FHIR and unified authentication initiatives.
  • Apply secure engineering practices and partner with Security on threat modeling, risk reviews, and secure SDLC activities.
  • Build production-quality software in JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Python, or C# with automated testing and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product, Security, and engineering stakeholders in a Kanban delivery model.
  • Participate in on-call or operational support for critical identity services as needed.

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent, with the posting stating that a degree is not required.
  • Typically 4+ years of relevant experience and at least 4 years building and shipping production software as an individual contributor.
  • At least 4 years of deep experience with Okta and/or Auth0, including policies, applications, federation, and claims.
  • At least 4 years implementing or integrating authentication and authorization using OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and/or SAML.
  • Strong understanding of secure engineering practices and common identity threats.
  • Experience with at least one of JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Python, or C#.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and security teams and communicate technical decisions clearly.
  • Preferred experience with SMART on FHIR, SCIM, directory integrations, identity lifecycle management, RBAC/ABAC, claims-based authorization, policy engines, regulated environments, audit support, and critical authentication-system reliability.
