Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend APIs and microservices using Python and C++ in an event-driven architecture.
- Design event-driven data pipelines for telemetry, sensor feeds, and mission data from heterogeneous vehicle fleets.
- Develop React-based operator interfaces for mission planning, fleet coordination, and system monitoring.
- Create WebSocket-based communications for low-latency operator interactions with autonomous systems.
- Build data transformation and aggregation services for autonomous system data.
- Implement role-based access controls and authentication systems.
- Design and optimize database schemas for high-throughput operational data.
- Integrate vehicle control systems and sensor data streams with autonomy engineers.
- Support autonomous platforms through RESTful APIs, ROS2 topics, and message queuing systems.
- Ensure application resilience and performance through testing, monitoring, and deployment automation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience building production systems.
- Strong C++ proficiency with systems programming and performance optimization experience.
- Expert-level Python skills and experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Experience with ROS2 middleware, including topics, services, and distributed robotics systems.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
- Strong database design and optimization skills with PostgreSQL and NoSQL systems.
- Experience building real-time applications using WebSockets, message queuing, and event-driven data streaming.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven patterns.
- Understanding of Linux system programming and multithreaded application development.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include C++ multithreaded systems, gRPC/Protobuf, database tuning, DDS, MQTT, autonomous vehicle systems, Kafka, Redis Streams, ZeroMQ, OpenCV, PCL, Docker, AWS, Grafana, Prometheus, and defense, aerospace, or autonomous systems experience.
