Responsibilities
- Assess technical setups, telemetry infrastructure, monitoring tools, and operational workflows across legacy and expanded solutions.
- Identify redundancies, inefficiencies, synergies, gaps, and operational best practices.
- Design a unified and scalable roadmap for monitoring, observability, proactive alerting, and technical operations.
- Implement tool rationalization, cost optimization, and best practices for cloud spend.
- Integrate AI and machine learning into monitoring through predictive alerting, automated incident response, and anomaly detection.
- Lead the migration, consolidation, and optimization of the organization’s observability toolset.
- Define and promote modern Site Reliability Engineering methodologies across operational teams.
- Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams, transfer knowledge, and assume ownership of observability platform governance.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on experience designing and managing enterprise observability and monitoring environments using Splunk, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Strong expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proven experience with AWS CloudWatch and related AWS governance and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation for observability-as-code.
- Proven experience in platform operations.
- Interest or practical experience applying machine learning or artificial intelligence to operational data and AIOps.
- Ability to lead collaboration across cross-functional and newly merged teams and drive consensus.
- Ability to communicate operational needs and business value to senior management.
- An active AWS certification, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, is highly preferred.
