Responsibilities
- Formulate, select, and develop technical solutions for compliance projects spanning KYC, identity verification, sanctions and PEP screening, transaction monitoring, travel-rule enforcement, case management, and regulatory reporting.
- Lead research and development, coordinate resources, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality and timely delivery, including AI model integration work.
- Partner with Data Science, Risk, and Legal to productionize models and build reliable, auditable inference infrastructure.
- Define the boundary between probabilistic AI and mandatory deterministic compliance logic.
- Develop AI engineering practices including agentic coding patterns, prompt libraries, evaluation suites, and human-in-the-loop review for regulated workflows.
- Support team development and cultivate technical talent across the compliance engineering organization.
Requirements
- Compliance-first systems mindset with knowledge of state machines, idempotency, exactly-once semantics, reconciliation jobs, and immutable audit logs.
- Daily fluency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex CLI, or equivalents is required.
- Production experience integrating AI/ML model inference into Java services, including REST/gRPC model serving, feature engineering pipelines, latency optimization, graceful degradation, and drift or rollback playbooks.
- Hands-on production experience with at least one LLM application pattern: RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, or LLM-based classification or extraction.
- Experience building AI safeguards such as evaluation suites, hallucination tests, prompt regression suites, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Understanding of distributed systems principles including CAP, consistency, idempotency, and exactly-once versus at-least-once semantics.
- Experience with KYC, AML, sanctions, fraud, payments, or regulatory audits is a strong plus.
- Clear logic, quick thinking, and communication skills for working with engineers, compliance officers, auditors, and regulators.
- Exposure to LLM integration or AI agent frameworks and system-level prompt engineering is a strong plus.
