Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software applications, APIs, data services, data pipelines, and analytics services.
- Collaborate with architecture, product, engineering, design, and business stakeholders on system design and requirements.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor development team members, and promote engineering best practices.
- Make technical implementation decisions for complex systems and help guide engineering vision.
- Build scalable, reliable, developer-friendly REST microservice APIs and business applications.
- Design and optimize relational databases and support Snowflake-based analytics and data warehousing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of overall software development experience, preferably building secure and scalable web applications.
- Experience with TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, Uvicorn, and RESTful API development.
- Experience with React, preferably with Material UI and Vite.
- Experience with Docker, AWS ECS Fargate, AWS CDK, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, data warehousing, analytics, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with microservice architecture, cross-platform integration, scalable applications, software configuration, change control, and deployment activities.
- Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Pandas, AWS services, GitLab CI, pytest, Vitest, Playwright, Okta, Jira, and Slack.
- Strong database design and optimization, analytical, teamwork, communication, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with regulated environments is desirable.
Benefits
- Six-month hybrid contract with one day per week onsite in San Carlos, California; potential extension or conversion to full-time.
- Hourly compensation of $66–$83 USD.
