Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software applications supporting the Sample Management and analytics platform.
- Build scalable, developer-friendly REST microservice APIs and cross-platform integrations.
- Design and maintain data pipelines, analytics services, and business applications using Snowflake and dbt.
- Collaborate with architecture, product, design, and stakeholders to define requirements and make complex system design and implementation decisions.
- Perform code reviews, mentor development team members, and help guide engineering best practices and vision.
- Design and optimize relational databases and sustainable cloud-based systems.
- Participate in software configuration, change control, release, deployment, and automated testing activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of overall software development experience, preferably developing secure and scalable web applications across frontend and backend technologies.
- Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, Uvicorn, Pandas, React, Material UI, and Vite.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and scalable microservice architectures.
- Experience with Docker, AWS ECS Fargate, AWS CDK, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, data warehousing, analytics, SQL, PostgreSQL, and/or MySQL.
- Experience with AWS services, infrastructure-as-code, GitLab CI, pytest, Vitest, and Playwright.
- Experience with software development lifecycle processes, database design and optimization, and heterogeneous environment integration.
- Experience with Okta, Jira, and Slack is desirable.
- Strong analytical, teamwork, organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills are required; familiarity with regulated environments is a plus.
Benefits
- Six-month contract with potential extension or conversion to full-time based on performance and business needs.
- Hybrid work arrangement with one day per week onsite in San Carlos, California; the posting also identifies the role as Remote USA.
- Hourly compensation of $66–$83 USD.
