Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and propose technically sound solutions.
- Design, develop, and test optimization applications for power systems and electricity markets.
- Integrate and document software solutions according to best practices.
- Support software releases and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Research and apply advanced mathematical modeling and numerical methods.
- Collaborate with internal teams and represent the company in customer meetings.
- Improve software development processes and documentation.
- Travel occasionally to support global customer projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on electricity markets.
- At least 5 years of experience with optimization modeling tools and solvers, including AMPL/AIMMS, CPLEX, and Gurobi.
- At least 3 years of experience with high-level programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience using Linux or AIX operating systems.
- At least 2 years of experience developing power-system application software for electricity markets.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Must already have work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States.
