Responsibilities
- Lead development and management of software solutions that integrate with advanced networking technologies.
- Own moderately complex projects involving network operating systems and related infrastructure software.
- Translate detailed software designs into actionable development plans and lead solutions spanning multiple interacting modules.
- Act as a networking subject matter expert for root cause analysis and automate complex software-networking tasks.
- Lead software automation design and delivery projects that improve network operations.
- Serve as a module lead while collaborating with senior and junior engineers and organizational stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on networking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Strong expertise in Network Operating Systems and experience with networking hardware.
- Experience developing software solutions for large enterprises or cloud provider environments.
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS.
- Experience with network automation, scripting, and tooling such as Python and Ansible.
- Familiarity with network modeling and programming using YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF.
- Knowledge of software architecture and design, distributed systems, and cloud-native environments.
- Understanding of network security principles, software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, DevOps practices, and networking APIs.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
