Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain VS Code extensions with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Implement syntax highlighting, code completion, hover, navigation, refactoring, formatting, diagnostics, quick fixes, problem matchers, commands, views, status bars, and webviews.
- Design and evolve domain-specific languages using Langium or similar language workbenches.
- Define grammars, AST models, parsers, linkers, validators, serializers, semantic validation rules, and actionable error messages.
- Generate configurations, documentation, code stubs, and JSON/YAML outputs from DSL models.
- Build CLI utilities and automation scripts for DSL compilation and validation.
- Integrate DSL tooling into Jenkins pipelines and existing developer workflows.
- Write unit and integration tests for language services and VS Code extensions.
- Maintain code quality through reviews, static analysis, and coding standards.
- Create developer documentation, quick-start guides, and user examples.
Requirements
- B.Tech or B.E. degree.
- 3–5 years of software development experience focused on developer tooling, IDE plugins, or language engineering.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience developing VS Code extensions, including commands, providers, webviews, and Tree Views.
- Practical knowledge of Langium or similar language workbenches such as Xtext or MPS.
- Understanding of Language Server Protocol and Debug Adapter Protocol.
- Experience with Python for scripting, automation, and toolchain integration.
- Working experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Electron for desktop application development.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Experience with embedded software development workflows, including CMake and cross-compilation toolchains, is desirable.
- Knowledge of grammar engineering, AST manipulation, code generation patterns, semantic versioning, VSIX packaging, and VS Code Marketplace publishing is desirable.
- Experience working in distributed or cross-functional teams is desirable.
