Responsibilities
- Build and optimize large-scale ML pipelines, shared training frameworks, data pipelines, cluster tooling, and robust research tools.
- Integrate research checkpoints into production, streamline evaluation, and expose APIs.
- Conduct deep-learning experiments involving sparsified 70B+ runs and distributed training across thousands of GPUs.
- Design, implement, and benchmark ML algorithms in efficient Python code.
- Turn research prototypes into production-grade components for Le Chat and Mistral’s enterprise API.
- Collaborate with Research Scientists and contribute within platform or embedded research teams.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, or an equivalent proven track record.
- At least four years of experience working on large-scale ML codebases.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Experience with distributed training using DeepSpeed, FSDP, SLURM, or Kubernetes.
- Experience in deep learning, NLP, or LLMs; CUDA or data-pipeline experience is a bonus.
- Strong software-design skills, including testing, code review, and CI/CD.
- Self-directed, collaborative, low-ego working style.
