Responsibilities
- Provide manual QA automation and mentor QA engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
- Set automation standards, frameworks, and best practices across the QA function.
- Plan and prioritize QA work with engineering and product leadership.
- Assist with test strategy, risk assessment, coverage planning, quality metrics, and release-readiness reporting.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex quality and testing issues.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for API, web UI, and Windows desktop applications.
- Develop API test automation frameworks using Java and REST Assured.
- Write Python scripts and tooling for test execution, data setup, and reporting.
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted automation tools, including Claude AI, for test generation, maintenance, failure analysis, and documentation.
- Build and maintain test pipelines in Azure DevOps, including test plans, pipelines, and release gates.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation coverage is developing.
- Triage test failures, distinguish flaky tests from genuine defects, and drive root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant work experience.
- 8+ years of QA engineering experience, including 2+ years in a lead or senior QA role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and REST Assured for API test automation.
- Experience using Claude AI or similar LLM tools in automation development and testing workflows.
- Working proficiency in Python for scripting and tooling.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted or AI-driven testing automation tools.
- Experience with API testing and automation, including functional, contract, and performance considerations.
- Experience testing Windows desktop applications with tools such as WinAppDriver or Appium.
- Experience with web UI automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans, Pipelines, Boards, and Repos.
- Strong understanding of test strategy, risk-based testing, and quality metrics.
- Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring or leading QA engineers.
