Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain Java-based automated test frameworks for backend services, REST APIs, SAP workflows, and web/mobile applications.
- Build Java and Spring Boot test tooling, harness applications, and execution infrastructure for high-throughput testing.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines and define test data, mock service, and environment strategies.
- Lead testing efforts across concurrent global retail projects and establish organization-wide QA standards and automation practices.
- Coordinate onsite and offshore engineering activities, assess risks, define mitigations, and present quality updates to senior management.
- Partner with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into test strategies.
- Track quality metrics and automation coverage while identifying bottlenecks, environment risks, and systemic blockers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software development and test automation.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience, including building applications or tooling with Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks.
- At least 3 years leading or coordinating cross-functional QA or testing initiatives across global teams.
- Experience architecting automated testing frameworks for backend APIs and web/mobile user interfaces using tools such as REST Assured, Karate, Playwright, Selenium, Appium, or XCUITest.
- Experience with enterprise integration or SAP workflow automation using Worksoft, Tosca, or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of the SDLC, STLC, test data management, and CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical risks and strategy to senior management and cross-functional partners.
- Preferred experience includes large-scale eCommerce or retail platforms, Python scripting, AWS, GCP, Azure, Kafka, RabbitMQ, performance/load/scalability testing, and AI/ML-assisted testing tools.
