Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions and integrate them with the platform team’s deployment tooling.
- Own Helm charts and values defining how services run across environments.
- Instrument delivery pipelines and microservices with metrics, logging, tracing, and retention for production observability.
- Define service level objectives, error budgets, and user-impact-focused alerting.
- Automate repeatable production releases and rollbacks to make deployment low risk and reversible.
- Create tooling that improves the speed and safety of engineering delivery.
- Deploy and operate containerized services on Kubernetes.
- Manage infrastructure as code and maintain consistent, reproducible environments.
- Participate in incident response and convert findings into durable fixes.
- Contribute to disaster recovery testing and recovery objective validation.
- Document technical decisions in architecture decision records.
- Integrate application developer needs with the platform team’s deployment platform and tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, developer experience, infrastructure, or reliability engineering.
- Experience supporting developer experience across build, test, deployment, and observability.
- Experience building and operating production application services in Java or a comparable language before moving into developer tooling.
- Experience instrumenting services and pipelines with metrics, logs, and traces.
- Experience defining service level objectives, operating with error budgets, and creating user-impact-focused alerting.
- Experience reducing deployment friction through automation, with repeatable delivery, low change failure rates, and fast service restoration.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and experience operating containerized services on Kubernetes, Nomad, or similar orchestrators.
- Preferred proficiency in Python, Terraform, and YAML.
- Experience with Docker or Podman, GitOps deployment workflows, CI pipeline integration, shell scripting, incident response, and disaster recovery testing is preferred.
- Experience with financial markets infrastructure or other regulated, latency-sensitive systems is preferred.
- Cloud platform experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tooling, SQL, PostgreSQL, or standing up a platform function from scratch is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
