Base Salary
$152k - $186k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend services, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Drive architectural decisions, data models, API contracts, and resilient backend infrastructure design.
- Promote backend testing, security, maintainability, and deployment best practices.
- Partner with Product, Operations, and engineering teams to define scope, manage trade-offs, and deliver logistics features.
- Identify technical debt, bottlenecks, and architectural limitations to guide platform scalability.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code and system design reviews, and promote operational ownership.
- Troubleshoot production failures, monitor service health, and lead blameless post-mortems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong coding skills in one or more of Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience building and scaling microservices and distributed systems integrated with APIs.
- Deep understanding of system performance, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end backend testing.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms and practical implementation ability.
- Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle is preferred.
- Track record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineers is preferred.
- Knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry is preferred.
