Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM i/AS400.
- Enhance and support enterprise applications using RPG, RPGLE, CL, and IBM i SQL.
- Understand, maintain, and modify Synon2/E (COOL 2/E) components.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into practical client solutions.
- Participate in analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Collaborate with business users, developers, analysts, and support teams across multiple initiatives.
- Support incident, change, and problem management activities.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and development best practices.
- Improve application reliability, maintainability, and supportability.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
Requirements
- Strong experience in IBM i/AS400 application development.
- Strong hands-on proficiency with RPG/RPGLE.
- Experience with CL and IBM i SQL.
- Working knowledge of Synon2/E (COOL 2/E).
- Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing client enterprise applications.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in production support environments.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage priorities across development, maintenance, and support activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare, RxClaim or other PBM adjudication systems, technical task or project leadership, mentoring junior developers, modernization or integration initiatives, and familiarity with Java, Python, Angular, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
