Base Salary
$160k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Scope, design, and ship features end-to-end across the stack, including multi-system integrations.
- Make architectural decisions that balance maintainability with immediate delivery needs.
- Translate product requirements into technical solutions while identifying edge cases and constraints.
- Communicate technical trade-offs involving performance, development time, operational complexity, and user impact.
- Anticipate dependencies, reduce coordination overhead, and resolve issues outside the immediate scope when they block progress.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and provide code reviews that identify bugs and architectural issues.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Use Cursor, Copilot, and ChatGPT to improve development velocity and code quality.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI capabilities to product features and internal workflows and share effective usage patterns with the team.
- Own product outcomes, contribute to technical direction, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building production software systems and independently owning complete features.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language, such as Python, Java, or Go, with the ability to write clean, testable code.
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and web technologies.
- Experience partnering with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes.
- Experience making technical decisions that balance delivery speed with long-term system health.
- Ability to work independently on complex and ambiguous problems and proactively resolve blockers.
- Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience giving constructive code review feedback and contributing to documentation.
- Active experimentation with AI development tools and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.
- Interest in fintech, consumer finance, or mission-driven companies is a nice-to-have.
